Keshinro Ololade, popularly known as Lil’ Kesh, has confirmed initial reports that he is set to float his own record label, YAGI.
Following speculations over the past few days of Kesh’s departure from Olamide‘s YBNLimprint, the rapper has taken to social media to reveal the current situation of things with his contract and relationship with the label.
He disclosed that he was signed to the label for only two years, with the contract indicating that he releases a studio album and three musical videos.
Having met the contractual obligations, he has decided to take a new route with his musical sojourn by floating his own label to enable him discover and groom new talents as done to him by YBNL lead act, Olamide.
In the explanatory post, Kesh maintains he is still family with the YBNL camp as he is still under its management, and expressed gratitude for how he was handled during his time on the label.
‘If Baddo did not believe in me my talent will still be wasting in the streets,it’s only proper that i start believing in other people, it’s YBNL’s legacy. So if you think YAGI think YBNL think FAMILY’ he wrote .
In April 2014, Olamide signed up Lil Kesh and his debut single ‘Shoki’ became an instant hit, enabling him to go on stage to perform with Davido and Olamide at the Channel O Music Video Award in November of same year.
His debut album, YAGI (Young And Gettin’ It) released March 2016, is still enjoying massive airplay.
