It's hard settling down when you are popular – actress

– Nollywood star Empress Njamah speaks on marriage and why she is not under pressure despite being single
– The entertainer added that she did not take a break from acting as she has been critical of the scripts she accepts
 – Empress also revealed much of her time has been spent on other ventures outside acting which explains her absence Nollywood actress Empress Njamah has addressed the never ending issue of female celebrities and marriage as well as her break from acting. In a recent interview with The Punch, the Missing Angel actress revealed that there are difficulties in settling down with a man given the limelight female celebrities are exposed to. She said: “I am a realist. I am not the kind of woman who thinks that things just come to you. It will come at some point. It is not easy for people like us in the limelight unlike others. more plans to surprise the fans On the trend of baby mamas in the entertainment industry, she stated that many female celebrities caught in this situation only pretend about being happy when in the real sense they are filled with regrets. She also touched on the issue of broken marriages in the industry which she believes is not worth all the troubles. She said: “Most of them, who pretend that they are happy about being ‘Baby Mamas’ go home and feel sorry for themselves  wishing that have a proper man. “I have friends who feel that they have got to a certain age and they are not taken. These days, there are 30 women to a man. There is no pressure on me for not being married because I come from an enlightened family. “Most of the things happening in the industry are not encouraging. This week, you are happy and have a big wedding, the next, you have broken up. What is the essence?” On her absence from the movie industry, she explained that she never took a break as it will be unfair of her to abandon the profession that gave her fame. Empress said she hasn’t featured in so mamy movies in recent times owing to her focus on her other ventures. She said: “It will be very unfair for me to abandon what actually gave me the name Empress Njamah. The industry does not have an expiry date no matter what age one gets to. One can still play a role. “I grew up with legends, I learnt from Olu Jacobs, Joke Silva. My brothers are still in the industry as well. At some point, a lot of things started going on in the industry and one could not just fold hands and let these go on. The only thing is that we try to get good scripts and do business along with this. It is not about being all over the place that makes one a good actor. My foundation also takes a lot of my time.”(Video) Empress Njamah made a return to Nollywood in 2016 with the movie Good Samaritan featuring Wale Ojo, Tamara Eteimo and more. In the past, she dated dance hall star Timaya and the pair had a widely publicized romantic affair. Empress rose to fame following her appearance in the Charles Novia movie Missing Angel which also stars Stella Damasus, Desmond Elliot, Tuvi James and Nobert Young.
