Following the news of Mary J. Blige's divorce filing from husband and manager, Martin Kendu Isaacs, the singer has reportedly issued an official statement on her split.
A rep from the "Stronger" crooner has revealed on behalf od the singer that there is a reason for everything.
The statement which was released today, July 29, 2016, explained that the actress would continue to keep up the good work, while thanking her fans for their support.

“Ms. Blige is saddened to say [that] it is true that she has filed for divorce, saying sometimes things don't work how we hoped they would... but, there is a divine plan and a reason for everything. Mary will continue writing and working on her album, which is due out later this year along with her world tour. She thanks and appreciates her fans for their support and love through this very difficult emotional time.”
The news of the divorce filing came as a shock to many considering the kind of history the pair share.
The couple were married for 12 years after tying the knot in December 2003 but have no kids together.
